Use Patio Tile For Beautiful Low-Maintenance Gardens
You don’t have to be an expert gardener to have a beautiful garden. There is so much information and help available on gardeninginfo-online.com that you can become an expert in your garden in no time at all.
What you need to do is decide what type of garden you would like to have. Something to suit your style of house, a very traditional period style home would not look right with a modern style garden.
No matter what style you choose, it can be low maintenance. That is where the planning comes in. You may need the help of a garden designer or you can search the internet to find all the various styles of garden, choose one you like then sketch it on paper, graph paper is good for this, and take it along to your local nursery to see what they can suggest for the planting so it becomes low maintenance.
Things like pavers/patio tiles, gravels, stones, railway sleepers, planters, pots and tubs, garden edging, and screens are what is called the hard elements and these can be combined to give some fantastic looks. Your plants will soften and take that hard look away, unless that is what you like of course.
Landscaping supply businesses normally have an area set up to show these hard elements in various combinations. Take a visit to a few and see what they have to offer. You will get ideas for combining these elements and incorporating a lawn and planting areas. Make sure you let them know that you would like your garden to be low maintenance.
There is a lot on offer so take your time in making the decisions, visit as many as you can before the final design.
Your garden is for you to enjoy, You can also set aside areas for relaxing, reading the morning news, even if you work from home, an area where you can sit outside and work on beautiful days or just enjoy a cool drink or a hot coffee.
Whatever you decide, a beautiful low maintenance garden is what you are after.
Andy,
I know where you are coming from with the rock on the patio thing…I first saw this concept on TV and was amazed at how good it looked. However, I have yet to implement on my patio but still plan on it sometime soon….
